The Restorative Justice Council is pleased to announce that the West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service has achieved the Restorative Service Quality Mark (RSQM).
The RSQM is a badge of quality which guarantees that a service provides safe, high quality restorative practice, which meets the six Restorative Service Standards. West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service joins other RSQM awardees – in sectors ranging from criminal justice through education to care – delivering high quality restorative processes.
Chris Straker, the RJC’s interim chief executive, said: “Congratulations to the West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service on achieving the RSQM award. This achievement highlights their commitment to delivering high quality restorative services to those affected by crime.”
West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service is delivered by Restorative Solutions and funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for West Yorkshire, Mark Burns-Williamson, who said: “It’s fantastic to see West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service receiving this recognition early into the new service. These services can be really crucial in helping both the victim to recover and re-offending to reduce as a result of a restorative intervention.”
Kate Brooksbank, West Yorkshire Restorative Justice Service’s delivery manager, said: “It felt a real achievement to know we had achieved the RSQM. It made us feel really proud of the service that we have developed and the staff and volunteers who deliver the service.”
