DCI Paul Coleman from Lincolnshire Police on the Benefits of Restorative Justice
In this video, Detective Inspector Paul Coleman, from Lincolnshire Police's Spalding and South Holland CID, explains the benefits of Restorative Justice, and how it differs from community resolution. DI Coleman also explains how RJ benefitted a victim who took part in the process.
DI Coleman says: "As we say here in Lincolnshire Police, the only people that should be making a decision not to engage in the restorative justice system, is the victims themselves, and we owe it to them to give them the power to do so."
DI Coleman also explains how easy it is for members of the police to complete referral forms, which are available on their Intranet.
